Parking lot take-off from "Google Earth" -- overhead satellite viewing:

The area in red represents a square footage / yardage take-off for asphalt pavement.  The scale was calibrated using Google "Ruler" to determine an on-site measurement of linear footage, then using the SoftScale "scale calibration" feature to apply that known distance to this overhead picture.
