Since 1987, Tally
Systems, Inc. has specialized in developing software for construction
estimators who are overwhelmed with the tedious process of generating
quantity takeoffs by hand. Using digitizer technology, our products
improve measuring accuracy and measuring speed.
Tally Systems
specializes in blueprint measuring software. No assemblies, no cost codes,
no material and labor rates, just pure takeoff.
Most of our users use our QuickMeasure blueprint measuring software in
conjunction with existing Excel, Lotus or Quattro spread- sheets.

"Quick
Measure"
Architectural Blueprint
Measuring Software for Estimators -- Excel Interface
QuickMeasure is
our Windows based software that allows the construction estimator to do
takeoffs from blueprints quickly and accurately. Simply click on the
desired measuring function, Line, Area, Segment, or Count and begin
touching the digitizer pen to the blueprint.
QuickMeasure can
be used as a standalone takeoff program or it can be used in conjunction
with an estimators existing spreadsheet software (Excel, Lotus, Quattro,
etc.). QuickMeasure draws, prints and stores a picture of each item
measured.
You may type
information directly into QuickMeasure's Spreadsheet Values Window, or you
can bring information into the SpreadSheet Values Window from your
existing spreadsheet (Excel, Lotus, Quattro, etc.). Digitize quantities
into the appropriate cells, then click the Send Icon to transfer from
1-500 quantities back into your existing spreadsheet with a single click
of the mouse.

Measuring
Functions:
Count, Linear, Segment Length and Area
Scales:
All Imperial and Metric scales. Plus, calibrated scales derived from known
distances on blueprints that have been reduced, photo-copied or faxed.
Spreadsheet Values Window:
Bring ranges of up to 1000 cells from your existing Excel, Lotus or
Quattro spreadsheets into QuickMeasure's Spreadsheet Values Window. Fill
in the quantity fields with digitizer generated quantities then send the
quantities back into your spreadsheet application. You may also create
your own spreadsheet right within QuickMeasure. QuickMeasure's Spreadsheet
Values Window supports formulas to extend quantities or sum columns.
Digitized
Graphics:
Each item you measure with QuickMeasure will be drawn and stored. In fact,
you can highlight a range of cells and overlay multiple takeoff items to
create a complete footprint which can then be printed and stapled to your
estimate. QuickMeasure will also display dimensions on your takeoff so if
plans are modified you can compare your takeoff with the working set of
drawings.
As you touch the digitizer pen to the blueprint, QuickMeasure displays a
picture of exactly what you have measured. This helps if you have
forgotten where you started, or maybe you were interrupted by a phone
call. Print a picture of your takeoff or store it to a file for review at
a latter time

Screen display shown reduced;
actual screen display on your PC will fill the screen.
Legend:
Select from a variety of lines colors to differentiate between different
takeoff items (footing types, wall types, etc.). The legend then prints
along with the picture of your takeoff to give your field personnel a
clear definition each item in your estimate. Count items are defined by a
symbol library.
Conversion Calculator:
Lengths and areas generated with the digitizer can be converted into any
variety of units including CY, CF, SY and more. QuickMeasure will also
apply pitch factors to sloped roofs and vaulted ceilings. Also convert
Metric quantities to Imperial and vice versa.

QuickMeasure "On-Screen" -
Digital Blueprint Measuring
| QuickMeasure
Onscreen is our Windows based software that allows the construction
estimator to do takeoffs directly from the image displyed on the
computer screen. Using the mouse on your computer, simply click on the
image displayed on the screen to generate area, lengths and count
measurements. Quantities are accumulated in the QuickMeasure OnScreen
application or they can be sent directly to the users existing Excel
spreadsheet. |

OnScreen Toolbar
|
| As you click
your mouse on the digital image, a line snaps from point to point to
show you what you have measured. This helps to show you what you have
and haven't measured. You may print a picture of a single takeoff item
or group multiple takeoff items together to see an combined image of
the entire blueprint. All takeoff images are stored either in
QuickMeasure OnScreen or in your Microsoft Excel spreadsheet |
SectionWorks
Road, railway and
canal cross section estimating software
Calculates
excavation, strata cut and material quantities.
SectionWorks allows you to quickly and easily calculate:
- Excavation quantities
including cut, fill and import-export.
- Strata cut volumes.
- Paving material
volumes and tonnage.
- Mass diagrams showing
the accumulated import/export volumes
|
|
|

|
Road Totals View
The Road Totals View gives you an overview of the current road
including a centerline graphic, totals report and cross-section
cut/fill list. The centerline graphic shows the existing, proposed,
pavement and strata elevations at the road centerline. The report
shows the cut, fill, strata cut, import/export volumes and material
quantities. (Click on thumbnail to enlarge). |
|

|
Cross Section View
The cross-section view allows you to digitize in the elevations,
pavement location and strata for each cross-section. On-screen,
digitizer and keyboard commands allow you to quickly and easily
digitize all the cross sections in a road with minimum keystrokes.
(Click on thumbnail to enlarge). |
|

|
Mass Diagram View
The Mass Diagram View allows easy tabbed access to all of the mass
diagrams for the roads in the job. The mass diagram shows the
accumulated import-export volumes along the length of the road. (Click
on thumbnail to enlarge). |
TrenchWorks
Pipe and utility
trench estimation software
Calculates
excavation and material quantities from profile drawings.
TrenchWorks allows you to quickly and easily calculate:
- Excavation quantities
including bedding, backfill, native fill, total cut and export
volumes.
- Pipe lengths by
material type.
- Bedding and backfill
material volumes by material type.
- Strata cut volumes
|
|

|
Trench Segment View
Allows easy tabbed access to all the segments of a trench. Each
segment screen allows you to set the dimensions of the the trench
segment and to select the pipes, conduit, bedding and backfill
materials in that segment. Each trench segment may contain up to
50 separate pipes and conduits. |
|

|
Job Trenches View
The Job Trenches View gives you an overview of the trenches that
make up the job. A series of tabs gives you quick and easy access
to your trenches. For each trench, the program shows a graphic of
the trench as well as the trench excavation and materials
quantities. |
|

|
Trench Profile View
The Trench Profile View allows you to keyboard in all of the
invert elevations, manhole locations, elevations and strata
information. Up to 50 different strata can be entered for the
trench. TrenchWorks also allows digitizer input of all invert
elevations and manhole locations. |
